    11:15 am - 12:15 pm
    Session Type: Session
    Session Capacity: N/A

After more than a decade of low interest rates, well-behaved inflation and declining unemployment, the post-COVID economic landscape looks decidedly different. Global central bankers have taken aggressive, synchronized action to combat 40-year highs in inflation. The years of hyper-accommodative monetary policy sparked a dramatic repricing across asset classes as interest rates surged higher and risks markets sold off. This session will provide an update on the state of the economy, macroeconomic themes, global monetary policy, the overall direction of interest rates and health of capital markets. This panel will cover an overview of the current state of the economy and recent trends; what we see on the horizon; and the implications for captive investment portfolios. This interactive session will include diverse perspectives from an investment manager who specializes in managing assets for captives and a captive owner who has been through multiple market cycles.

Learning objectives – Upon completion, participants will be able to:

    • Identify the forces behind what’s driving the economy and capital markets and the impact those factors can have on captive investment portfolios
    • Comprehend the latest macroeconomic trends and understand how to respond to them
    • Equip themselves with a set of tools that will effectively and accurately analyze the economic landscape when it comes to captives
