    Join us for a discussion of how captives can leverage data visualization. We will walk the path of a captive’s data set, from collection to analysis to visualization and highlight what technologies can add value along the way, including bolstering actuarial analyses and making technical results more consumable for captive boards and other stakeholders. This session will help risk managers answer a number of key questions about leveraging new technology and data visualization for your captive.

    Learning objectives – Upon completion, participants will be able to:
    • Meet the needs of visualizations auditors, board members, actuaries regarding data visualization for your company
    • Explain the different tools that can get data from A to B with visualization
    • Implement best practices and recognize the potential pitfalls of visualizations
    • Structure visualizations that unlock insightful data for efficient decision-making

Organization: Pinnacle Actuarial Resources, Inc.


Aaron Hillebrandt is a Principal and Consulting Actuary with Pinnacle Actuarial Resources in the firm’s Bloomington, Illinois, office. He brings considerable experience in assignments involving loss reserving and statements of actuarial opinion, funding studies, loss cost projections, captive feasibility studies and personal and commercial lines ratemaking. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Illinois State University, where he previously lectured. He is an honorably discharged sergeant and combat veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Aaron has served as a vice-chair on the Casualty Actuarial Society’s (CAS) Annual and Spring Meeting Planning Committee, a faculty member of the American Academy of Actuaries (AAA) Seminar on Effective P/C Loss Reserve Opinions, and is the chair of the 2023 VCIA conference task force.


Organization: AI Insurance


Cameron is the CEO of AI Insurance, which makes a modern cloud-based software platform specifically for running captives and Risk Retention Groups. Cameron is a Northwestern graduate and has been awarded for his research in human-computer interaction. With a background as a cognitive software engineer at IBM, Cameron is focused on bringing a data-centered approach to the insurance space so that companies can unlock the potential of AI.


Organization: Opus Investment Management


Bill joined Opus Investment Management in 2007 as an Assistant Portfolio Manager and currently holds the position of President, Opus Institutional Markets. In his current capacity, he leads investment strategy development, oversees marketing and sales efforts, and manages portfolios for Opus’ institutional client business. Bill has experience partnering with a variety of account types, including insurance companies and pension funds. Prior to joining Opus, Bill was employed with Genworth Financial as an Asset Liability Analyst within their Institutional Markets Group where he was focused on identifying risk mismatches in their portfolio.
