Sessions Information

  • August 10, 2022
    10:00am - 11:00am
    Session Type: Session
    Session Capacity: N/A

Companies like Google and Facebook are dominating their industries by using machine learning (ML). Yet, despite the many offerings available, no insurance companies (and certainly no captives) have implemented ML and seen returns different than the rest of the market. This interactive session will explore claims data and the world of machine learning and how both can be applied in the Captive Industry. We'll breakdown what people mean when they say "big data" and we'll explore how being good at understanding and using data can help streamline operations for an organization.

Learning objectives: Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:
                                 - Be able to understand what a Machine Learning algorithm is and how it works
                                    - Understand what makes a company more or less successful at doing machine learning
                                 - Learn how and why having a single source of truth improves your data and your organization
                                   - Learn the 3 core components of how data can help people in the insurance process
