    1:00pm - 4:30pm
    Session Type: Meeting
    Session Capacity: N/A

Relatively new to the captive industry? Then this beginner captive intensive is for you! With so many vendors and perspectives, and the well-known line of “if you've seen one captive you’ve seen one captive,” it can be overwhelming to understand what’s happening and where you and your organization will fit into the captive landscape. Fear not—that’s why we’ve designed Captive Immersion for you.

This special program will provide a quick break down of the “what” and “why” of captive formation (Captive 101 will provide a more comprehensive overview the following day), followed by a deep dive into the space of captive service providers and partners. We’ll go into roles played, major and minor, and show the relationships between them. You’ll hear from folks in each of these roles describe where they fit into the captive puzzle. You’ll also have the chance to ask them about any questions you might have about anything related to captives or insurance.

If your goal is to get captive-savvy before the conference starts, then Captive Immersion is the place to do it.

Learning objectives – Upon completion, participants will be able to:

    • Have a fundamental understanding of the captive insurance industry
    • Know essentially how and when to engage the services of a particular service provider
    • Understand the roles and responsibilities of each service provider group
    • Understand the life cycle of a captive, and when changing it or returning to the commercial market is appropriate

    Level: Basic

No CPE, CLE or ICCIE CREDIT AVAILABLE

Content Advisor: Ian Davis, M&T Bank

Moderator & Coordinator: Cameron MacArthur, AI Insurance
