    The pandemic has proven to have a lasting impact on the future of our work environments. This session reflects on the overarching theme of transformation requiring bold new approaches that will give leadership a healthy facelift. Reimagining Leadership will examine the challenges of a rapidly changing workforce landscape and how leaders can keep apace. Key strategic objectives will focus on organizational culture as an operational imperative. This session will also identify trends in leadership attributes and behaviors necessary to promote desired work cultures, integrating practice into organizational workflows. We will discuss core leadership principles and outline what you need to know to develop leadership strategies, including a review of key trends.

Organization: FCA US Insurance Company


Cheryl Baker has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, covering various areas including mergers and acquisitions, professional liability, corporate claims and cyber risks, all with the effective utilization of captive insurance companies in mind. Cheryl successfully works with internal and external colleagues to assess risks and assist executive leadership in making risk-intelligent decisions. She is the president of Stellantis’ US-based captive and has earned an MBA from Louisiana State University-Shreveport and a B.A. from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Cheryl holds the ARM, CIC, CRM, and Associate in Captive Insurance designations.

Clare M. Bello, Esquire, Senior Vice President, CCMSI, Division Leader and Founder of VCM. For 21 years VCM has been recognized for its flexible and cutting edge claims management and consulting concepts for the management of professional liability claims. Clare assists clients in their transition from insured to insurer and works with the captive team to measure claims performance as the captive matures. Clare works with clients as an advisor on topics such structure of programs, education and compliance. She lectures in national and international programs and is published for her innovative approaches to claims management and consulting services.

Julie Bordo is the CEO and President of PCH, providing liability insurance to over 2,800 long term care facilities in 47 states. As a former litigator and current business counsel and consultant, Julie engages a 360 view when addressing the unique demands of running a risk retention group. As a member of the board of the National Risk Retention Association she chaired NRRA’s Conference in 2018 and 2019. Julie is an avid early adopter of innovation, has lobbied in Washington on behalf of the captive industry and is a passionate speaker on myriad topics vital to the industry. She was named to Captive Review’s 2020 and 2021 Power 50.

Melinda Young serves as Vice President of Risk Management, where she assists company leadership in the development and execution of corporate strategies for identifying, managing, mitigating and transferring risk. Melinda is also responsible for placing Alberici’s insurance program and is involved in the management of Alberici’s captive insurance companies. She oversees claims handling, trade partner prequalification and Alberici’s Subcontractor Default Insurance program. She is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) with more than 30 years of experience providing insurance brokerage and risk management solutions to the construction industry. Melinda is a graduate of Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri.
